Why Do We Hate?
Since we were very young
we were conditioned to accept
the values of our parents without question
and who among us would betray that person
who had clothed, fed, nurtured
and protected us since we were born?
Their religious leanings
and personal prejudices
accompanied the package
as they were also indoctrinated
in the same manner by their parents.
One of the most destructive things
that we can learn from them
or anyone else is hatred.
Hatred is not a normal thing
as most of us entered this life
as pure and unblemished beings.
This impairment has to be
deliberately installed
and is a liability to our species.
It took lifetimes to instill this
destructive form of manipulative
behavior in each of us --
but the good news is that
whatever can be learned
can also be unlearned!
One has to be somewhat enlightened
to see things from the perspective of others.
Placing yourself in another's shoes
even for a little while
will open your eyes to compassion.
We can always find things
that we don't agree upon
but we don't have to hate the person
we disagree with!
Finding things we have in common
will bring us closer.
If you hate a certain group
for example, you can be assured
that you will be a member
of that same group
in your next lifetime.
Karma is like that!
It's a lot easier to love someone
than it is to hate them.
After all, on the "other side"
we're all friends!
Energetically when you hate someone
you drain yourself of your own life force
and shrink as a spirit.
Loving someone, on the other hand
bolsters your spirit and you become
larger as a result!
When given the choice,
which will you choose?
Wishing you a lifetime of discovering
and consciously letting go of
all the hidden resentments
that aren't even yours !
