People who disagree with you are not the enemy!
Disagreement is not disrespect.
Different views do not divide our loyalties.
They remind us that truth has many faces.
They help us to understand that they emanate from
differing needs, experiences and
sources of information.
We can listen without surrendering.
We can also show respect and acknowledge that
we understand without having to agree.
Kindness facilitates the process.
Unity is not uniformity.
It would be boring if it was!
Opposition can open understanding —
as it affords us the opportunity
to examine our own position
from another point of view.
Start by finding things we can agree on.
And when we speak out of love compassion and respect
the world expands to hold us all.
Isn't that better than what we have now?
